about

Hi, I'm Velve and I am a 30 or 40 something year old millenial. I have a wide variety of interests such as video games, anime, drawing, old school internet stuff, cooking, taking long walks in the middle of nowhere, cryptocurrency, and some other stuff I can't think of right now!

This website was made a while ago, but I really started developing it more recently (2023) after watching some of Luke Smith's videos on Internet Independence. It's also partially made out of a sense of disdain for the modern internet landscape.

People are too content with having social media accounts and scrolling through news feeds and short-form video reels constantly and never really using technology in a way that's truly meaningful. I grew up using the internet throughout the 2000's before smartphones and social media became prominent and I've always felt it was something truly special. We had flash cartoons, message boards, and people actually made their own websites. These things still exist in some form or another, but I think there's a lot of people out there, especially around my age, who feels dissatisfied with the state of the internet.

Instead of complaining about how much social media sucks on a social media platform, you gotta be the change you want to see in the world! Make your own website and make the internet fun again!

Anyways, VelveWarudo exists to be my own little chunk of internet land where I'm free to do whatever I want with it. I've had a couple websites in the past that are no longer with us (R.I.P. bozos!), so this isn't exactly my first time doing something like this. The main attraction for this website and perhaps the most content-heavy part will be my archive of sketches going back 20 years that I've been slowly putting together.

I have a lot of ideas for this website, but not so much time to implement them, so updates will be pretty infrequent. Hopefully it won't be that way forever, though!

With that all being said, thanks for coming by!
